Beverly J. Hupp, 80, of Webster City, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Tuesday at Fosters. Beverly Joan Calkins, daughter of I. Franklin and Laura Crawford Calkins, was born July 5, 1930 at Mason City. She attended elementary schools in several Iowa towns and graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City. On June 28, 1948, she married Harley Fredrick Hupp in Waterloo. Bev had been employed at J.C. Penney's and Kendall Young Library for 30 years. Mr. Hupp died July 9, 2004. Following her retirement from the library, she continued to reside in Webster City. Mrs. Hupp is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Michele Hupp, daughter, Jacalyn Hupp, all of Webster City; grandchildren, Leslee Hupp of Des Moines; Hayley Hupp of Ames; great-grandson, Cael Harrison of Des Moines; sisters-in-law, Ardys Boston of Arizona; Patricia Peters of Kentucky; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bev was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, served on the Congregate Meals Board for several years and volunteered in many ways within her community.
