Betty J. (Power) Elm, 87, of Webster City, died on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Van Diest Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Graceland Cemetery with Revered Mike Kroona, officiating. Betty J. Power, daughter of Willis E. and Dora E. Power, was born June 30, 1930 in Maquoketa. She attended school in Webster City, graduating from Lincoln High in 1946. On February 20, 1949 she married Estel B. Elm in the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. They farmed in Freemont Township for 40 years. The couple moved to Webster City in November of 1988. Betty worked as a clerical secretary for Lund and Chambers, Patrick Chambers, Howard Meyers and Eric Meyers. Betty is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sally J. and Rodney L. Bernard of Clear Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Dale A. and Jodi Elm of Webster City; son, Paul B. Elm of Webster City; daughter-in-law, Valerie Jo Elm of Boone; six grandchildren, Matthew L. Bernard of Marshalltown, Meribeth L. (Bernard) Bishop of Katy, TX, Kristin Elm of Webster City, Austin Elm of Ames, Emily Elm of Ames and Lisa Tabor of Urbandale; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Elm of Webster City, and Elva Jane Power of Prescott Valley, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Estel and son, David B. Elm. Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City and was very active in the Naomi Church Circle. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Hamilton County Public Health in memory of Betty. Condolences may be expressed online at www.fosterfuneralandcremation.com.
