Avis Carlson

Avis Carlson, 85, of Stanhope died Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Southfield Wellness Community. A private family memorial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Avis and her family.
Avis Evon Carlson, daughter of Herman and Ruby (Schueberg) Carlstedt, was born November 28, 1936. She was united in marriage to Dean Stanton Carlson. Avis worked for many years as the office assistant at the Stanhope dental office, janitor for the City of Stanhope, and enjoyed helping with Wednesday Nights in the Park.
She is survived by her son, Larry Carlson of Stanhope; granddaughters, Dena (Tim) Tegeler of Ankeny and Cara (Mike) Hromidko of Cedar Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Clayton and Grace Hromidko.
In addition to her parents, she was preced in death by her husband, Dean in 2004; daughters, Cara Jo Carlson and Brenda Sue Carlson Kraus; brother, Irwin “Bub” Carlstedt and sisters, Nadine Olsen and Delores Mann.
