Anita Mae Lewis Gaul was born August 1, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas to Elmer LeRoy Lewis and Violet Mae Alexander Lewis.

She lived most of her childhood in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1975. She then attended Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Nebraska.

On December 27, 1977, Anita married Jonathan David Gaul at Southgate United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska.

They lived in Sioux City, Iowa, Dallas Texas, Neodesha, Kansas, and the Iowa towns of Lacey, Marion, Emmetsburg, Winterset, Waukee, Sioux City, Webster City, Dubuque, and Des Moines.

Anita was employed doing office work, nursing, church programming, and child care.

Anita's loves included her faith, her family, her friends, traveling, camping, biking, hiking, kayaking, reading, needle work, puzzles, retreats, music, youth ministry, and volunteering.

Anita is survived by her husband, Jon; her children, Anna Nelson and her husband Tony, Joshua Gaul and his wife Mandi; her parents, Elmer and Violet Lewis; brother, Ron Lewis and his wife, Jeanine; sister, Connie Rigler and her husband, Ken; brother, Dale Lewis and his wife Angie. Her grandchildren, Alexis, Mikayla, and Wyatt Nelson and Samuel Gaul. By many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. And by many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gale; her grandparents; aunts; uncles; two cousins; a nephew, and her parents-in-law.
