Obituary for Tom L Severe

Tom Severe, 77, of Webster City died Friday, November 11, 2022 at Van Diest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life is pending for a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for the family.
Tommy Lee Severe, son of Thomas and Leona (Mason) Severe, was born June 21, 1945 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1963 and from Iowa Central Community College. He served in the United States Airforce from 1964 to 1967. On September 14, 1996, Tom was united in marriage to Jeanne M. Schulte. He worked for 45 years as an optician for Dr. Niemann, Dr. Brauer, Dr. Tesdahl and Wolfe Eye Clinic, retiring in 2019.
Tom was a kind and gentle soul, a loving husband and father whose family meant the world to him. He enjoyed watching the races at the Hamilton Co. Speedway and the Boone Nationals. He had an extensive record collection and loved listening to and sharing his music.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Webster City; children, Chad (Lisa) Severe of Troy, MO, Jessica Severe (Wil) of Clive, Matthew (Joan) Severe of West Des Moines; brother, Steve (Vicki) Severe of Webster City; nephew, Ryan (Lisa) Severe and great-niece, Ali Severe of Webster City; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Mary ) Schulte of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert Schulte (Theresa Swanger) of Sioux City; nieces and nephews, Noah (Kristina) Schulte and children Leigha, Zoe & Jack of Virginia Beach, VA, Marshall Schulte of Washington, D.C., Emily (Rob) Hunter and children Kassidy, Brandon, Ahlivia & Calum of Moville, TJ (Kristi) Schulte and children Theo, Emmet of Sioux City, Kegan (Kim) Schulte and children Jayden & Aurora of Bonnie Lake, WA and Molly (Brad) Keane of La Brea, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Leona Severe; infant sister, Sandra Sue Severe and nephew, Justin Severe; in-laws, Carl and Mary Lou Schulte and sister-in-law, Kathy Schulte.
