Sue Elizabeth Mikel, oldest daughter of Howard and Beth (Doughty) Mikel, was born January 18, 1941, in Webster City. She grew up on the farm in Woolstock where she attended country school. Sue graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City and then attended Morningside College.
On October 20, 1963, Sue was united in marriage to David Marion Mishler at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City where they were both life-long members. The couple moved to Chicago for a short time before moving back and settling in Blairsburg where they would have two children, Bryan and Brenda. They then moved back to Woolstock to the farm that Sue grew up on. They remained on the farm where Sue helped right alongside David when she wasn’t busy tending to the kids.
Later on, Sue worked as secretary at the Webster City Jr. High School and then at the ISU Extension Office in Webster City until she retired. Her hobbies included shopping, shopping…..and more shopping. She loved to shop! Sue also enjoyed visiting different tea rooms with her friends and getting together for coffee on a regular basis. She was a member of TTT for many years and served on the lunch committee at Asbury UMC.
Sue loved her family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Attending their activities and events over the years brought her great joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
