Obituary for Stephen Dale Schnepf
Stephen Schnepf, 62, of Stanhope died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A Memorial Service for both he and his brother, Joseph, will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for the family.
Stephen Dale Schnepf, son of William and Bernadette (Wilberding) Schnepf, was born July 5, 1958 in LeMars. He graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1976. Stephen was united in marriage to Laura Wagner on July 16, 1982 in Freemont, NE. The couple divorced in 1994. Stephen was a framing carpenter for many years.
He is survived by his son, Shawn (Jenn) Bullock of Gardner, KS; daughter, Sara Schnepf of West Point, NE; grandsons, Micah Bullock, Dylyn Gentrup and Etrhan Gentrup; sisters, Mary (Todd) Hassebrock of Williams, Carmie (Pat) Halligan Fort Dodge, Jean (Tony) Amosson of Clive; brothers, Joe Schnepf of Newton, Peter Schnepf of Webster City, Paul (Theresa) Schnepf of Ankeny; special friend, Mindy Highland of Stanhope and many nieces and nephews.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, and nephews, Christopher and Jacob Amosson.
Steve loved life. He enjoyed biking, photography, and spending time with his loyal companion, Tucker. Memorial contributions in Steve’s memory may be given to St. Jude, Animal Rescue League, Salvation Army, Iowa Public Radio or PBS.
