Shirley Cross, 93, of Webster City died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center.
Shirley Jean Logue, daughter of Walter and Hattie (Russell) Logue, was born August 5, 1928 in Ogden. She graduated from Ogden High in 1947. Shirley was united in marriage to Eugene Cross on September 23, 1951 in Ogden. The couple resided in Webster City since 1968. She worked for Frigidaire for many years, retiring in 1995.
She is survived by her daughter, Rusilyn Bever of Webster City; son, Vern (Carolyn) Cross of Webster City; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and sister, Alice Clark of Nebraska City, NE.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Gene in 2011; son, David Cross in 2021; son-in-law, Ken Bever in 2020; brothers, Russell Logue, Glen Logue, Charles Logue, Vern Logue; and sister, Maybell Shughart.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed collecting angels and spending time with her grandchildren, especially after school sweet treats spent around the fireplace and countless games of cards and dominos wrapped around the table over the years. Shirley had a sharp mind for cards and wasn’t afraid to let her grandkids lose occasionally. She was proud of her family. She enjoyed her friendship with many playing bridge, having coffee at HyVee and swimming at Fuller Hall.
