Obituary for Sharon Newman
Sharon Newman, 77, of Webster City died Monday, May 15, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospitals. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Sharon Irene Schmitz, daughter of Leo and Erma (Rottman) Schmitz Sr., was born September 2, 1945 In Wabasha, Minnesota. She graduated from Wabasha Public schools. On August 25, 1967, Sharon was united in marriage to Winford “Dennis” Newman in West Union, Iowa. To this union four children were born, the couple divorced in 1984. Prior to her retirement, Sharon worked for Royal Products and Southfield Care Center.
She is survived by her children, Samuel Newman, Tracy (Robert Jr.) Casky, Joe (Tammy) Newman, James Newman all of Webster City; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samantha, Josh, Brandon, Aaron, Jessie and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Greyson, RJ, Brody, and Luke; brothers, Leroy Schmitz, Leo J. Schmitz Jr, and Lloyd Schmitz all of Minnesota and many extended family members.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gerald Schmitz, Quentin Schmitz, Larry Schmitz, Rosemary Arner, Wayne Schmitz, and Mary Ann Gray.
