Obituary for Ruth Ball
Ruth Ball, 102, of Webster City formerly of Duncombe, died Monday, August 12, 2019 at Crestview Senior Living. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019 with a Celebration of Life to follow at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Flagg, officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe.
Ruth Lavonne Ball, daughter of Dwight and Lulu (Schnoover) Royster, was born January 16, 1917 in Duncombe. She attended Duncombe schools. On August 16, 1934 she was united in marriage to Charles Leonard Ball. They made their home on a farm near Duncombe. She had worked for the Duncombe Café and Osweiler’s Clothing. Ruth moved to Crestview Senior Living in April 2010.
She is survived by her children, Janice (Don) Willardson of Overton, TX, Norman Ball of Iowa City, and Lois (Greg) Cammerrer of Burnsville, MN; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Jim) Brandt of Duncombe and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 1998; her son, Charles “Bob” Ball; grandson, Charles Ball; her siblings, Dean Royster, Dorothy Legg, Pearl Kaufman, Cathryn Powers, Charles “Chuck” Royster and Marjorie Royster.
She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Duncombe and she was very active in the United Methodist Women.
