Robert Archibald Sutherland, son of Robert Sutherland and MaryLou (Chamberlain) Weber, was born August 9, 1955 in Des Moines. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1973. He served his apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #33. On April 26, 1975 Bob was united in marriage to Laurie Lee Luppes in Blairsburg. Bob worked for various companies as a steamfitter until 1989 when they moved to Blairsburg to take over the family farm. Farming was his passion. Bob enjoyed stock car racing for 35 years, loved older Ford muscle cars, and gambling. He was proud of his daughters and grandchildren and looked forward to taking tropical family vacations every winter and they always traveled in a “pack”.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Laurie; daughters, Sheri (Scott) Olson and Julie (Luke) Brandel all of Blairsburg; grandchildren, Charlee and Jax Olson, Knox and Alyx Brandel, Kylee and Taylor Olson; father, Robert Sutherland of Missouri; mother, MaryLou Weber of Billings, MT; sisters, Linda Monson of Alexander, ND, Janice (Red) Bruins of Billings, MT, Kimberly (Mike) Gerde of Weatherford, TX and father-in-law, Johnnie Luppes Jr. of Webster City.
Bob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Margaret Kelley; mother-in-law, Sharon Luppes and brother-in-law, Floyd Monson.
