Regina (Jeanne) Luppes died peacefully on October 30, 2020 at her daughter’s home. Jeanne passed due to complications of dementia. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Cemetery south of Kamrar. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Regina Adel Reinsel, was born January 11, 1940 to Walter and Evelyn (Stuart) Reinsel in Webster City, Iowa. She was the youngest of three children Shirley, Jerry, and Regina. She spent her childhood in Webster City where she attended K-12 in the Webster City school district, graduating in 1958. She attended ICCC in Webster City where she earned her CNA license.
On April 12, 1959, Jeanne married Kenneth Luppes at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, Iowa.
Jeanne was a hard worker. Her jobs included farming in the Blairsburg Iowa area, being a Certified Nurses Aid as Southfield Care Center in Webster City, IA and continued at a care facility in Fairfield, CA.
In 1985, Jeanne and Kenny moved to California where they opened their family business, Ken’s Buy & Sell in Vacaville. Jeanne and Kenny loved their job. They enjoyed seeing new faces and telling everyone about being Iowa hog farmers. Blairsburg, Iowa has always been an incredibly special place that they considered home.
Some of Jeanne’s hobbies were gardening and believe it or not she loved pulling weeds. She once told her doctor that pulling weeds was therapeutic for her. She also enjoyed going to Softball games and watching her Daughter, Granddaughters and Great-Granddaughter play. She could not wait for her Great-Grandson to start sports so she could enjoy his games as well.
Jeanne and Kenny enjoyed traveling across Europe and going on cruises with their friends Gil and Mary Carvallos. They enjoyed returning to Iowa to check out the farmland and visit with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her visits with her best friend Kay Mechaelsen, the Blairsburg ladies, and sisters-in-law Wilma Reinsel. Later in life, her and Kenny purchased a place in Arizona where they spent a few winters escaping to the warm weather.
She was an avid church goer. She thought of her church friends as family. She and Kenny were members of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church where they both served as deacons.
Jeanne is preceded in death by husband of 56 years Kenneth Luppes; her parents, Walter and Evelyn (Stuart) Reinsel; brother, Jerry Reinsel; sister, Shirley (Howard) Johnson; nephews, Donny Johnson, David Johnson, & Marc Reinsel and niece, Diane Johnson.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Wilma Reinsel; son, Ken Luppes JR.; daughter, Beth (Kevin) Fox; granddaughters, Jillian (Jason)Ferguson and Kelsy Fox; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Logan Ferguson; niece, Shari Collins; nephews, Doug Johnson, Drew Johnson, and Jon Reinsel and several wonderful nieces & nephews from the Luppes side of the family
