Obituary for Ramona E Davis

Ramona Davis, 90, of Stanhope, died peacefully surrounded by her girls on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lawn Hill Cemetery, south of Stanhope.
Ramona Eileen Story, daughter of William and Maude Beatrice (Dailey) Story, was born on March 1, 1931 in Blairsburg. She graduated from Blairsburg Consolidated in 1948. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to Franklin Junior Davis in Fort Dodge. In 1951 they moved to Stanhope. Ramona was a co-owner at Davis Trucking from 1952 to 1991.
She is survived by daughter, Janet Bearden of Ankeny; daughter-in-law Marj (Mike) Majors of Webster City; grandchildren, Krisha (Nick) Birdsall, Korey Bearden, Amy Fritz, Angie (Trent) Mason, Heather Malloy, Justin Malloy and Stephanie (Scott) Wilson; 16 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Darrell Davis of Ames.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2014; her parents, son, Nicholas Davis; son-in-law, Gerald Bearden; brothers, Ernest Deakman and Charles Story.
She was a member of the Stanhope Parish and the Iowa Motor Truck Association. Ramona enjoyed wintering with Frank in Arizona.
Memorials may be left in Ramona’s memory to the Stanhope Lion’s Club for Watermelon Day.
