Obituary

Norman Arnold, 83, of Stratford, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City, with Pastor Fredrick Killian, officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford.
Norman Eugene Arnold, son of Harry and Hattie Tapper Arnold, was born November 10, 1935 in Kamrar at home. He graduated from Kamrar High School in 1953. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he attended Aviation School. He later attended Des Moines Area Community College in the Agriculture Production Program. On June 4, 1961, he married Patricia Kay Odland at the Church of Christ in Webster City. The couple resided north of Stratford. Norman farmed from 1960 to 2019. He had also worked for Webster City Products from 1958 -1962 and 1983 - 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Linda (Hugh) Whaley, Lori (Brad) Arnold, Londa (Tom) Rourick, Heather (Greg) Roorda and Heath (Tanya) Arnold; grandchildren, Maddelyn, Ethann and Emma Whaley, Sullivan, Shane and Sloan Rourick, Addison and Alaina Arnold; brother, Bernard (Jerri) Arnold; brothers-in-law, Arnie Odland and Sterling Isvik, sisters-in-law, Denise Odland and Becke Coulter Arnold.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hattie Arnold; sisters, Ferne Arnold Deakman, LeNora Arnold Isvik and Lillian Arnold Shields; brother, Gary Arnold; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Darlene Odland; brothers-in-law, Ronald Odland, Devon Deakman and Francis Shields; sisters-in-law, Audrey Odland and Josie Arnold.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #576 and the Farm Bureau Federation. Norman had also served on the Stratford Telephone Company Board and the Hamilton County Fair Board.
