Obituary for Norma Lee Bailey

Norma L. Bailey, 73, of Webster City, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Amundson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Norma Lee Vulgamott, daughter of S. Harold and Verna Aretha (Davis) Vulgamott was born on March 4, 1940 in Webster City. She graduated from Williams High School in 1958. On November 9, 1958 she married Walter Samuel Bailey at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple resided in Webster City. She worked at Morton Food, the Golden Age Nursing Home, Webster City Schools and the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (Brian) VanDeer, and Terri (Howard) Saxton all of Webster City; sons, Wade (Annette) Bailey of Fort Dodge, Randy (Tina) Bailey of Humboldt; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; twin sister, Nola Raner of Webster City; sisters-in-law, Julia IntVeldt of Marshalltown, Evelyn Vulgamott of Jewell and many nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her grandson Michael Carpenter; her siblings; Shirley Forrester Burton, Gary Gene Vulgamott, Clifford Ray Vulgamott, Vern Vulgamott and Neal Vulgamott. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a Cub Scout den mother, and an RSVP volunteer. She enjoyed baking, crafts, flowers, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
