Kenneth Wayne Miller, 91, of Webster City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Webster City with Reverend Mark Eichler officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Kenneth, son of Raymond and Pearl (Mitchell) Miller, came into this world on December 23, 1928. He was born in the family home on a farm near Alden, Iowa. He went to elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse in Burdette, Iowa. He graduated from Popejoy High School, in Popejoy, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Kenneth was united in marriage to Della Marie Breitenkamp on September 27, 1953 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Webster City.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Della Marie; their children, Anita Stevenson of Ankeny, Mark (Laura) Miller of Sugarland, TX, and Rhonda (John) Nielsen of Lake Mills; grandchildren, Laura (Tim) James, Michael (Kathleen) Stevenson, Kayla Stevenson, Erica Stevenson, Elizabeth Drennon, Kevin Drennon, Mark Miller Jr., Matthew Miller, James Nielsen, Marie Nielsen, Raymond Nielsen, Gina (Brian) Zarate; great-granddaughters, Avery, Dylan, and Haven James, great-grandson Evan Stevenson; sister, Margie Brannick of Winnebago, MN, sister-in-law, Donna Miller of Boone, and many nieces and nephews.
For many years they farmed near Blairsburg, Iowa. They left farming and moved to Webster City for a few years where Ken worked at Franklin Manufacturing. They then moved to Ames, Iowa where he worked for many years at the Iowa State University Dairy Farm. When he retired, he and his wife continued to live in Ames for several more years before returning to Webster City, where they have resided for more than 25 years.
Mr. Miller enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Drennon, his son-in-law, Bill Stevenson, his parents Raymond Claus Miller and Lydia Pearl Mitchell Miller, his siblings, Evalena Mitterer, Claus Raymond (Junior) Miller, Donald Miller, Colleen Hill, LaDonna Bessman, Nila Jo Miller, Eunice Miller, and Dallas Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials to be given in Kenneth’s memory to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Webster City or the American Legion Post #191.
