Obituary for Karin M Hanson

Karin Hanson, age 86 of Webster City, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Karin May Hanson was born on July 18, 1936, in Webster City, to parents Dwight and Mildred (Christianson) Brower. She graduated in 1954 from Lincoln High School in Webster City. On August 1, 1955, she married Harlan Keith Hanson in Bethany, MO. This union was blessed with three children: Stefani, Honey Sue, and Eric. Harlan and Karin raised their family on a farm north of Webster City.
She worked for many Doctors in Webster City as their office support staff – Dr. Haynes, Dr. Brown, and Dr. Sahai. Karin went to work for Webster City Federal in 1978, retiring after 31 years. She was a self-confessed city girl thrown into country life. She embraced that life and taught her kids to love it as well. She loved gardening, flowers, baking and canning and noticing all the beauty of natures.
Her family was her center. She was a hard worker and supported her kids and grandkids in anything they did.

Survivors include daughter, Honey Sue Heater of Marion, and son, Eric (Shelly) Hanson of Webster City; son-in-law, Brian Menage of Webster City; grandchildren Nate Heater (Laura), Katy (Nate) Anderson, and Aidan Hanson; great-grandchildren Connor Heater and Zoey Anderson; nephew, Paul (Teresa) Assing of Duncombe.
Karin is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan in May 2022; her parents, Dwight, and Mildred Brower; daughter, Stefani Menage; brother, Keith Brower and parents-in-law, Peter, and Hattie Hanson.
