June Ann Hansen, daughter of Holger and Florence Irene Shafer Hansen, was born June 4, 1935 on the family farm south east of Williams in Rose Grove Township. She was educated in the county school, Rose Grove #1 and #6. From there she went to 7th and 8th grades in Radcliffe. She graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1952. Following her graduation, she baby sat for a year. In the summer of 1953 she started working at the Star Laundry as a bookkeeper. On April 1954, she met the guy who became her husband on October 24, 1954. From October 1954 to April 1956 she lived on the Schwiebert Family Farm until the couple established and purchased their first home. She worked for the Hahne Printing Co. from June of 1956 to August of 1963. She worked for the United Coop as a receptionist and bookkeeper from 1964 to 1981. She later worked as a bookkeeper for St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After retiring from bookkeeping she continued to be very active with church work and the St. Paul's Ladies Aid as secretary for many years. She worked with and directed crafts for VBC for many years as well. She loved working with all the little ones and was loved by them. She headed up the quilt group making quilts and health kits for Lutheran World Relief. Due to health reasons, she retired in July 2010 to be at home for some much deserved rest. God bless her for all she did for her Lord. She was confirmed as an adult in August of 1954. She was a loving wife and a devoted mate. She loved and was loved by her family and the many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Many of them she baby sat and loved doing it.
