Jon Walker, 66, of Webster City died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church (masks required), followed by a reception at Briggs Woods Shelter #3. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Jonathan Craig Walker, son of Alvin and Lucille (Smith) Walker, was born September 7, 1953 in Webster City. He was a proud graduate of the Webster City High School class of 1971. Jon was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1973, but he never let this set him back from what he wanted to do. He farmed with his father and brother and had also worked for Woodard Feed. Jon loved to hunt and trap when he was younger, especially using his traps to help out neighbors and friends who were dealing with an unwanted wild animal.
He is survived by his brother, Jim (Patty) Walker of Webster City; sister, Luanne (Greg) Paper of Stanhope; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Scott) Schumacher, Bill (Kris) Walker, Kristy (Joe) Teague, Brett (Kasey) Walker, Lacey (Jordan) Kite, Kit Paper and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Blairsburg Lions Club. Jon loved to donate to many organizations and was a past member of 4-H and FFA.
