Obituary for James E Rossing

Our James Earl Rossing, born March 10, 1977, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, died unexpectedly October 17, 2021, at the young age of 44. He left behind his true love Jenni, three sons, Parker, Gage, and, Dylan and their goldendoodle Koda. James died a very loved and important man. He was a man of integrity. A man of courage. A man of determination. A man of wholehearted love for his family.

After graduating from Webster City High School in 1995, James went on to earn a degree in Electrical Maintenance from Iowa Central Community College. He began his journey as an electrician, later joining the IBEW, moving on to the Union Pacific Railroad as a Conductor. The railroad required him to work off hours, which allowed him to start JJPG Dirt Services. What started as digging a pond in his backyard, taking Parker on dirt deliveries with him in his dump truck (car seat and all) quickly turned into PG&D Services, LLC, a tree and landscape company. In 2006, a sawmill was purchased and in 2012, The Lumber Shack, an e-commerce company providing unique masterpieces of wood, was created. James pushed for a large expansion in 2021, and had just a few things left to wrap up before winter hit. James was unfairly taken from this world far too early. He was not done. All James knew was to think big - he had so many more plans and dreams. James & Jen were blessed to have been able to work alongside Parker, Gage and Dylan for years within most areas of the company.

James and Jenni, The Greatest Love Story This World Has Ever Seen 🎶.

Starting as high school sweethearts who grew into an unstoppable pair, James and Jen were married on August 14, 1999, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. Very excited to begin a life together, their first son, Parker James, was born in 2001, followed 16 months later with their second son, Gage Earl, born in 2003, and in 2004, their family of five was complete with the arrival of Dylan Cole. This family of five has been the heart and soul of every decision made for the rest of their lives. From cheering on the boys at their sporting events, fishing, grilling out and boating in the summertime, holding the love of his life’s hand through all of life, to playing guitar and singing his heart out, endless family vacations, and so much more, James has always been an involved, loving and dedicated husband and father.

A new life chapter had just begun. The kids were starting to head out to college, James was excited to see where this would take him and Jen, and he had commented most recently about his new friendships that were forming with his adult children, and how weird and yet amazing it is to drink a beer with your kid. He loved it, and loved the dreams of what was to come.

James had a contagious smile, and everything he did, he did with passion. He was hardworking and he could fix anything! He loved to cook, he loved to fish, and he loved to have a great time. In his younger years, James was reserved, a little shy, it could take a bit for him to warm up to new people. He always had a caring heart that could quickly shift into the ornery James we all know and love today. He was THE man, he was so incredibly full of life and love, and wanted to share his love of life with everyone - regularly bringing family and friends together to celebrate life. His family has always loved going to the lake, and after years of planning and searching, in 2017, they found their summer home in the Bell Harbor Community of Clear Lake where a neighborhood of friends have grown to be a family.

He is survived by his wife Jen; their sons, Parker (20), Gage (18), and Dylan (16) and their goldendoodle Koda (9); his parents-in-law, Dennis and Diane Richardson of Webster City; brothers-in-law, Josh (Kara) Richardson and their daughter Samantha of Slatington, PA and Jon (Bri Long) Richardson of Cedar Falls; his step-mom, Sue Rossing of Fort Dodge; his siblings, Wendy Koch of Fort Dodge, Eric (Jolene) Klein of Duncombe, Michelle (Mike) Miller of Minnesota, and Kenny Rossing of Renwick; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Andy) Sowle and their children, Emma, Jordan, Brooklyn and Wyatt of Webster City, Adam (Sara Miller) Klein and his children, Samuel, Evan and Aubri, Katelyn (Brandon) Ubben and their children, Charlie and Benny all of Duncombe; Kyle (Kaelee Mauch) Porter of Fort Dodge, Kasey Porter of Duncombe, Travis (Whitney) Kline and their son Ian of Boone, Karter Rossing of Omaha and Cooper Rossing of Fort Dodge, as well as many other close family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Rossing; and Carol (Martin) Rossing; his grandparents; his grandma-in-law Betty (Carden) Broshar; his aunt-in laws Deborah Carden, Vicki Carden.

James touched an unbelievable amount of people in his life. We are so incredibly heartbroken to see him go, but thousands of catfish in Clear Lake are relieved. Love you babe.
