Obituary for Irene Gordon
Irene Gordon, 101, of Webster City died Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Southfield Wellness Community. A Celebration of Life will be deferred until conditions for larger attendance will be more favorable to honor her. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Irene Muree Harrision, daughter of John and Rachel (Williams) Harrison, was born June 5, 1920 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High and the Webster City Junior College. On September 21, 1940, Irene was united in marriage to Norman Kirk Gordon at Holstein, Iowa. She taught country school for a short time before farming with her husband south of Webster City.
She is survived be her sons, Roger (Shirley) Gordon of Butte, Montana, Bruce (Marsha Smith) Gordon of North Bend, Washington; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Virgil Gordon of Webster City.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 2018; son, Philip Gordon; brother, Elvin Harrison; brothers-in-law, Howard (Marcelyn) Gordon, Kenneth (Beulah) Gordon and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Gordon.
Irene was a past member of the First Baptist Church; Eastern Star and delivered Meals on Wheels with Norman for over 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Meals on Wheels in memory of Irene. Direct memorials to the funeral home and we will forward to the family.
