Obituary for Ida M Lanken
Ida Lanken, 77, of Webster City died Monday, November 30, 2020 at MercyOne in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Pastor Peggy Ellingson, officiating. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at Fosters. Masks and social distancing are required for those in attendance.
Ida Marie White, daughter of Clyde and Alice Goldsworthy White, was born November 19, 1943 in Oneida, Iowa. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley Schools. On May 29, 1971 she was united in marriage to Elmer Lanken in Greeley, Iowa. The couple moved to Webster City in 1971. Ida worked for Beam Industries from 1985 until the plant closed in 2009.
She is survived by her sons, Joe (Julie) Lanken of Kamrar, Jason Lanken of Burlington; grandchildren, Jory Lanken, Jaric Lanken, JJ Lanken, Jaeden Lanken, and great-grandsons, Jeven and Joel.
Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2009 and her parents.
She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, helping with custodial work, active with the church circle and was a past Treasurer at Faith United Methodist Church. Ida also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors.
