Obituary for Harry Frost

Harry Frost, 97, of Marshalltown formerly of Stratford, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, north of Stratford. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Harry William Frost, son of Karl and Mabel (Page) Frost, was born June 9, 1924 in Dayton. He attended rural school until the 7th grade. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Harry was married to Magdelena Anna Breitiner in Ingolstadt, Bavaria Germany. He worked for Peterson Construction as a carpenter, retiring in 1987.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Gerald (Linda) Frost of Stratford, Barb (Jerry) Widick of Webster City, JoAnn (Todd) Darling of Webster City, Lisa (Charley) Scarlett of Maxwell; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Minyon Spellmeyer of Webster City and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lena in 2018; step-son, Carl Heinzi; granddaughter, Renee Frost and sisters, Betty and Greta.
Harry enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting, but most important were his children and grandkids.
