Obituary for Gleneva M Prunty
Gleneva Prunty, 95 of Des Moines, IA, formerly of Webster City, IA, passed away at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, IA, on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Section 32A in Webster City on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center of Webster City is in charge of arrangements.
Gleneva was born March 21, 1926, in Franklin County to Ralph and Florence (Jones) Stockdale. She grew up in the Hampton, IA, area where she and her family lived on a farm. She greatly loved the horses they had and had fond memories of growing up there.
Gleneva married Jonathan (Jon) Prunty in 1950 and celebrated 51 years together before Jon’s passing. They lived in Webster City before moving to Des Moines in 1956. In their earlier years, Gleneva and Jon enjoyed traveling and she had been to every state and many European countries. She was an avid walker, enjoyed music, and she played the piano for church, singing groups, and for her own enjoyment. Gleneva worked in the banking business for over forty years and enjoyed all aspects of her job. She last worked for Bankers Trust Company until her retirement in 1988. After retirement, she volunteered at West Des Moines United Methodist Church of which she was a member.
Gleneva is survived by her brother Marlyn (Rachel) Stockdale of Huntington Beach, CA; other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jon and her parents.
