Obituary for Geraldine Nichols

Geraldine Nichols, 88, of Webster City formerly of Duncombe, died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Unity Point-Trinity Regional in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Rosary and scripture service will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the funeral home followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m.
Geraldine Marie Krick, daughter of Martin and Agnes Zweiner, was born September 11, 1933 in Spalding, Nebraska. She graduated high school in Redding, California. On September 30, 1951, Geraldine was united in marriage to John William Nichols in Redding, California. To this union nine children were born. After raising her children, Geraldine worked for Franklin’s Manufacturing, Nissen’s and Crestview Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Kathy) Nichols of Cedar Rapids, IA, Gary (Ann) Nichols of Ramona, CA, Sheena (Jerry) McVay of Solon, IA, Sharon Symens of Webster City, IA, Sheila (Marlin) Hull of Lanesboro, IA, Allen (Rose) Nichols of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sharlotte (Mike) Hiracheta of Duncombe, IA, Keith (Michele) Nichols of Alexander, IA; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; siblings, Delores Barber, Margie (Joe) Knox , Bobby (Sondy) Krick, Leona Graham all of Redding, CA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, John Nichols Jr.; granddaughter, Shellie Moore; siblings, Andy, Donny, Norma and Caroline.
Geraldine was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Duncombe prior to becoming a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. She enjoyed reading and loved to watch her grandchildren.
