Obituary for Florence I. Stephenson
Florence Stephenson, 89, of Stratford died Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Stratford Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Cass Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the funeral home.
Florence Irene Stephenson, daughter of George and Gladys Record Orr, was born February 27, 1933 in Washington Township in Webster County. She graduated from Duncombe schools in 1953. On September 30, 1956, Florence was united in marriage to Earl Eugene Stephenson in Webster City.
She is survived by her children, Christine (Allen) Brown of St. Augustine, VT, Jana (Louis) Castle of Paradise, AZ, Lynette (David) Brenzel of Marion, IA, Michael (Nanette) Stephenson of Stratford, IA, Danelle (James) Marek of Las Vegas, NV, Shera Ohlert of Webster City, IA; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd (Margaret) Orr of Bellevue, NE; sister, Mary (Clair) Bentley of Duncombe, IA and many extended family member.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1973; her parents, George and Gladys; siblings, Rose Marie Orr, Laura Killberg, Robert Orr, Paul Orr and Wanda Cunningham.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, embroidery and tatting. Florence loved to spend time caring for her garden and watching sports, especially baseball.
