Obituary for Coralie A Mechaelsen

Coralie Mechaelsen, 89, of Webster City formerly of Kamrar, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church, south of Kamrar. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Coralie Ann Schweppe, daughter of Vernon and Clara (Voss) Schweppe, was born December 1, 1932, on a farm near Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. Coralie worked as a bookkeeper for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, she was united in marriage to Raymond Benjamin Mechaelsen on August 23, 1953. Raymond and Coralie resided on the family farm east of Kamrar where she worked at Franklins until starting her family. For the next forty years Coralie and Raymond continued to work together on the family farm.
After the passing of Raymond, Coralie continued to live on the farm for the next nineteen years working, travelling, and keeping the acreage up. Coralie enjoyed living life in the country and watching sunsets.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Mechaelsen of Kamrar, Leann (Chuck) Olson of Hallsville, MO, Teresa (Gerry) Gourley of Webster City; grandchildren, Chad and Collin Mechaelsen, Teagan and Joslin Gourley and sister-in-law, Doris Peterson of Minneapolis, MN.
In addition to her parents, Coralie is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1997; sisters, Norma Rimke and Lois Maier.
Coralie was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar where she served as an elder, deacon, taught Bible and Sunday school and enjoyed Women’s Circle. Coralie was also a leader for Leann’s Brownie Troop. She loved to read and put together puzzles, but most importantly she loved time spent with her children and grandchildren
