Colleen Claude, 78, of Jewell died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Israel Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Community Church of Kamrar. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Colleen Elaine Mortenson, daughter of Marvin and Hortense (Hilpipre) Mortenson, was born August 17, 1944 in Story City. She graduated from Randall High School in 1962. On March 17, 1962, Colleen was united in marriage to Carl J. Holland Sr. To this union three children were born, Carlene, Joe, and Cathy. Carl passed away following an accident in 1970. On October 6, 1972 Colleen married Gary L. Claude in Blairsburg. Over the years Colleen worked various jobs – Story City Café, Butler Bins, South Hamilton Construction, Northgate DX service station and manager of the Jewell Farm and Home Store. She enjoyed bowling, motorcycle trips, snowmobiling, decorating for Christmas, caring for her flower gardens and maintaining a meticulous yard.
She is survived by her children, Carlene (Bruce) Block of Jewell, Joe (Becky) Holland of Madrid, Cathy (Todd) Siefken of Webster City; grandchildren, Lindsay (Justin) Hoversten of Radcliffe, Sam (Anna) Block of Story City, Jennifer (Dan) Green of Huntersville, NC, Wyatt Siefken of Webster City; great-granddaughter, Kendra Hoversten of Radcliffe; sisters, Mary (John) Dodds of Gilbert and Susan Johnson of Maple Grove, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Colleen was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl; second husband, Gary and her parents, Marvin and Hortense.
