Obituary for Carol Jane Nelson

Carol Nelson, 89, of Webster City died Friday, August 26, 2022 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Kelli Glasgo, officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in East Ullensvang Cemetery east of Thor. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Carol Jane Larson, was born on April 9, 1933 to Carl and Olive (Carlson) Larson in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from North High in Omaha and was educated at Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha. Carol worked as a registered nurse at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge and the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. She was united in marriage to Hans C. Nelson on January 5, 1958 in Omaha. They were married for nearly 62 years when Hans passed away in December of 2019. They had three children, Jeff, Barb and Lisa. Carol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle. She was a former member of the Chapter EL of PEO, the Webster City Country Club, and the Blairsburg Coffee group. Family, farming, and friends were all very dear to her heart.
She is survived by children, Jeff (Jerita) Nelson of Webster City, Barb (Ian) Campbell of Punta Gorda, FL, Lisa (Curt) Miller of Webster City; grandchildren, Ashley (Rob) Larson, Brent (Julia) Nelson, Lydia (Ethan) Cummings, Caleb (Sarah) Miller; great-grandchildren, Reed and Aloise Larson, Baker Cummings and Baby Cummings due in January 2023; sister, Jean Moberg of California and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Hans and her parents, Carl and Olive.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Nikki Ehn, Dr. Subhash Sahai, Life & Health Care, and Unity Point Hospice for their loving care and concern for Carol and her family. Memorials may be given in Carol’s memory to Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City.
