Obituary for Beverly Cheyne

Beverly Cheyne, 91, of Webster City died Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Beverly Adelene Ratzke, daughter of Albert and Bernice (Oskvig) Ratzke, was born December 17, 1931 in Alden, Iowa. She graduated from Williams high school in 1949 and American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Beverly was united in marriage to Donald A. Buntenbach at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on April 15, 1951. Mr. Buntenbach died on February 18, 1952 during the Koje Island riot in Korea. On January 14, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lawrence D. Cheyne in Williams. Beverly was a busy mother raising four children and worked part-time for Britson’s Siding and McMurray Hatchery. She enjoyed baking, bowling and was active in her church circle at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Ken Cheyne of Clive, Beth (Greg) Faith of Ames, Jan (Steve) Biggins of Webster City, Brad Cheyne of Webster City; grandchildren, Sean (Carly) Biggins, Megan (Trevor) Butler, Max Faith, Audrey Faith, Winston Cheyne, Stella Cheyne; great-grandson, Leo Biggins; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Ratze of Webster City, Lorraine Barnes of Blairsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by husbands, Donald Buntenbach and Lawrence Cheyne; parents, Albert and Bernice Ratzke; grandson, Andrew Faith; brother, Avery Ratzke; brother-in-law, Leroy Barnes and nephews, Rick Ratzke and David Ratzke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Beverly’s honor to Trinity Lutheran Church or Kendall Young Library.
