Barbara Lee Massman

Barbara Massman, 72, of Webster City went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Revs. Mike Kroona and Tony Ede officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.
Barbara Lee Kortje, daughter of Alfred and Florence McDole Kortje, was born December 15, 1940 at Norfolk, NE. She received her education in Norfolk and graduated in 1958. On July 22, 1963 she was united in marriage to Frank Massman at Papillion, NE. The couple resided in Kearney, NE and Council Bluffs before moving to various cities with Frank's job. They moved to Duncombe in 1979. After raising her 3 sons, Barb went to work with her husband at Younglove Construction as a job site administrator. In 2008, they retired and moved to Webster City.
Mrs. Massman is survived by her husband; Frank of 49 years, her children; Scott (Cheri) Massman of Scotia, NE, Steve Massman of Webster City, Greg (Tammy) Massman of Webster City; grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Kaylee, Kory, Tranton, Riley, Kaden, Tanner, and Kinley; siblings; Larry Kortje of OR, Jeanette Koffler of PA, Richard (Vicki) Kortje of OR, Carol (Kenny) Zautke of Norfolk, NE and Ron (Beth) Kortje of Norfolk, NE and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Rodney Kortje in infancy and Daryl Kortje, and niece, Shawn Zautke.
Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle.
